Primrose Corner

Did I say that…..

I’ve obviously jinxed the weather, it’s awful today.

Well, I know I haven’t said anything about it but I’m going to launch my own shop (online - not a bricks and mortar type) to sell my bags and fabric bits and pieces). Alongside that I’m going to sell the fabric and some other bits and pieces which I happen to buy because I use them.

I’ve been agonising for ages what’s best to do, analysing this and that, reading
every blog I can find about how to go about seeling your ’stuff’ (some good, some definately off with the fairies (but at least they’re sharing)) trying to decide if I’m completely mad (setting up my own branch of the seriously deluded) or not.

Anyway, having got this far, setting up a shop and my own website it’s taken me a loooooong time and a lot of mental energy so it’s time to make it real.

So, today my Moo cards arrive and they are absolutely lovely. I’m thrilled with them.

I’ve been trying out different labels on my bags and I’ve not been
particularly happy with them so far but looking at the design on the
cards I think that that design (on fabric of course) will be just the
perfect size and look for my bags and wristlets.

(Like the pouch?)

The shop needs more photographs of my ‘creations’, to show the details and I’ve
made some pouches this week to add a little variety to my shop. It’s
just like me to plan to set up a business selling bags, spend
absolutely ages getting everything together and understanding the
what’s and the how’s and start off with a shop which doesn’t actually
have any bags in it!

Do I spot next weeks project?

Well, actually no. I need to make some sewing/knitting bags (yes, yes I know they’re bags) to take to a lady in a neighbouring town. I bought some wool from her recently and she spotted the Amy Butler fabric that my own bag is made off. (I read somewhere that you need to wear/use your own stuff. Be your own advertising hoard kind of thing.) Apparently, she wants to give her own shop more of a ‘crafty’ look and she’s offered to have my bags in her shop. I can’t get over my luck. She didn’t specifically ask for knitting/sewing bags but I’m guessing that they might be more attractive to her customers. Ooh! too much to think about.

I’ll let you know how I get on.
